Bah. I've gone back to the dull life of a student. The 3-day break after the exams were short but well-spent at S201 chalet at Pasir Ris.
I guess it was a good chalet for a pretty last-minute one. The BBQ was bought on the DAY of the BBQ, at the NTUC at eHUB. I swear, the new eHUB is awesome and lives up to its name. It has like practically everything. I think even if it pours heavily at Pasir Ris for all 3 days and rendering outdoor activities useless, the days could still be spent in the air-conditioned mall with its bowling alley, pool-place, arcade, cinema and restaurant(s). And I learnt to count "tai" for Mahjong. And we have enlightened HuaCai about this beautiful game. Woot. And I introduced Polar Bear to the guys and they are quite hooked to it. Crazy Psycho Game. Lol.
But the highlight of the chalet for me was probably the night cycling around the whole of the east side of Singapore. We set of at 12am sharp after YingZhen left for home in her mom's car. The gang, 7 guys (Edwin, Jason, Douglas, JohnHo, Alvin, HuaCai, ZhiGuan) and 1 girl (Josephine) were off into the darkness of the night. Muaha. Who knows what lurks in every dark corner. Lol. Random-ness.
Message from Alvin after the chalet:
Yo people, we did a really great job just now. According to google earth, we covered 62.02 km in 8hrs. Average speed is thus 7.753km/hr. the furthest for me.
And for ME too. 62.02km is a crazy distance for an amateur like me. But I guess the distance explains the fatigue i was feeling for the last part of the journey. The route is as follows:
Pasir Ris -Tampines-Bedok/Bedok Reservoir-East Coast-Esplanade/SingaporeFlyer-Bugis-East Coast-ChangiAirport-Changi Beach-Changi Village-Pasir Ris.Crazy STUFF! I was pretty psyched in the beginning, and was running on ecstasy (as in excitement and stuff) for the first half of the journey. Became tired and grumpy when we reached back at East Coast for the second time. And then adrenaline got me going throughout the last part of the journey home. We saw a sign before the LONG 6km road along Changi Airport that said "
Lights would be turned off from 12am to 6am" or something like that. I was thinking
FuckNo! What the hell? 6km in darkness?
And the muscle cramps were not helping. But the road at changi turned out pretty ok, though it was dark and buzzing with mosquitoes. It was all quiet and all we could hear were the soft cha-chings of our bikes and the mandarin pop music played from Alvin's phone. Kept chanting songs in my head to take my mind off the cramps and the dark. Mind over matter! Muaha.
Well, so that's that. Back to old boring school life. Let's make the long distance thing a tradition at S201 chalet! Kudos to everyone, especially to Josephine, being the only girl and all.
And we're getting a CLASS SHIRT at last.
Red and
Black. Awesome. Sounds sexy.
